LESSON 6. Our Good Intentions May Be Harming (Even Killing) Our Animals! Tee Tree Oil Toxic to Some Cats
|
As a BodyTalk Facilitator and Animal Intuitive, I recently learned that good intentions can cause as much harm to animals as bad intentions. In this case, it was a
holistic vet whose good intentions unknowingly caused permanent damage to an animal.
A 5-year old female kitty was presented to the holistic vet for her annual checkup. During the examination, he noticed yeast in her ears, which looked like dark
ear wax. He applied a homeopathic ear wash solution that contained approximately ONE DROP of tea tree oil in a dilution oil and sent home a bottle of ear wash
solution to be applied one to two times a week. However, the kitty's human only applied it once a month.
discomfort and agitation, along with occasional hiding, loss of vitality and zeal for life. Her quality of life gradually diminished. She slept more than normal and
Over the course of the next seven months, the kitty's health began to deteriorate with symptoms of licking concrete, scratching her ears, biting her paws, general
seemed depressed. I was asked to do BodyTalk sessions on her and they would help her rebound. Blood tests would come back normal. It wasn't until the cat
"turned yellow" in her skin, ears, eyes and gums and threw up yellow bile that the severity of the toxicity was understood. Through a series of deductions, I was
able to confirm the human's suspicion that the source of the toxin was the tea tree oil. The vet immediately applied an antidote to counteract the toxin but it was
too late. This kitty helped us learn a valuable lesson about good intentions. The tea tree oil prescribed by a loving, caring, holistic vet was slowly poisoning the
kitty and making it impossible for the BodyTalk sessions to aid the kitty's body in healing itself
Instead, the last two BodyTalk session actually helped the animal transition easier. She had a definite purpose. She wanted to stay (in spite of her failing body)
to make sure we discovered what was poisoning her so it could be relayed to the holistic vet. In this way, he would stop prescribing the tea tree oil and he and I
could warn other animal lovers about the toxicity.
The cat relayed this message specifically:
"Just because a product is holistic, organic or all-natural does not make it safe."
Likewise, we are all aware that prescription drugs can be dangerous and have life-altering side-effects too - just read the package inserts!!
