    HOW LARIMAR ATLANTIS STONES COME TO MY STORE
    These very rare LARIMAR STONES come to me directly from the  Dominican
    Republic in the Caribbean.  This is the only place where they are found.

    Larimar, also known as Lorimar, Blue Pectolite, and Dolphin Stone, is a rare
    variety of gemstone found exclusively in a remote valley in the Dominican
    Republic.  
    Original inhabitants and local villages of the Dominican Republic have been
    aware of this stone since 1950.  

    It wasn't until 1974 when Miguel Mendez first recognized the gemological
    characteristics of Larimar and graded it as a gemstone.  He then renamed it after
    his daughter LaRissa and MAR the Spanish word for sea.

    The only source of Larimar is in a single mountainside perforated with
    approximately 2000 vertical volcanic holes.  The mines are surrounded by rain
    forests along with deposits of a blue-colored dust that emerged from these holes.

    Geologists have an interesting clue about how Larimar came into existence.  
    Andesite and basalt, two Miocene volcanic rocks erupted within the region
    covered with limestone in the southern coast of the island.  The perforated rocks
    were eventually filled with various minerals that included blue Pectolite, giving it
    is blue color.

    Mother Nature and Divine Source sends us tools always in
    perfect timing.  The Larimar Atlantis stone is a very special
    partner for these times.
